All About Infrared Gas BBQ Grill Technology - Grilling and Maintenance
The infrared grill was discovered due to the brilliance of the technology that was applied to infrared gas burners to dry paint. The genius behind this discovery was Bill Best - founder of TEC gas grills and the one responsible for the patent that was placed on the first infrared gas burner in 1961. This was a ground breaking discovery that resulted in lots of energy being saved in the world of industrial heaters. Once the technology was applied to the Tec Air Radiant Oven, Radiant Wall oven and Turbulator Oven thousands of people began to see just how effective infrared heat was in drying paint and it was applied to cars and a whole list of other things needing intense, instant heat..
It was after the grand breakthrough in industrial heaters that the infrared grill gained life and once again a lot of attention was focused around Bill Best. The discovery of the new invention was more of a chance event than something that was planned. Best changed one of the grills he always used by placing a ceramic infrared burner in it and this was how infrared grilling was invented. Of all the scientists and great inventors of the time, Best was the first to notice that the radiant heat applied to a infrared grill had the capacity to cook food without causing it to become dry and unappealing as many gas grills do.
The infrared radiation that is produced with pressurized propane or natural gas is the leading advantage that an infrared grill has over many other grills. Infrared grills are far hotter than any traditional grill and thus give the homeowner the flexibility of having a quick, succulent barbeque without having to keep an eye on what is happening every 10 minutes.
Over the past few years many people have been hesitant about the idea of using infrared grills to cook their food. The same fear over the use of micro-waves and a list of other appliances is the fear that has crippled thousands from using infrared grills to have a barbecue. At first, there was a fear that using it could lead to cancer and a list of other problems. Other resistance sprang from an inaccurate belief that the intense heat would burn food and dry-out flavor - exactly the opposite feature of an infrared cooking system. However, millions of American homes have a micro-wave and other appliances originally condemned as deadly elements to the human race.
The original TEC patent over infrared burners has expired so more and more people are able to afford an infrared grill without breaking the bank for a lofty $4,000 to get one. Now it is possible to have one at a cost of $400 or even less, although the manufacturing quality of these barbeque grills is not the same high standard as the more expensive TEC, Solaire and Alfresco infrared grills.
The main benefit to people using an infrared grill over a conventional grill is: less fuel use, faster cooking time, better taste and simple cleaning. An infrared grill uses less fuel because it cooks faster and does not require the same amount of fuel as a gas barbeque to reach cooking temperatures. Once lit, an infrared burner will heat to over 1000 degrees in approximately three minutes. In the amount of time a traditional barbeque reaches normal cooking temperatures, with all three burners turned to "high" a single infrared gas grill burner can be done cooking several steaks, cleaned and cool enough to cover.
Many people also say that the food tastes a lot better due to direct, high heat temperature. An infrared burner is wide and rectangular so it also cooks the food uniformly with an even distribution of heat while locking in all the taste, seasons and natural flavor of the food. Not only faster but the taste of grilled steak, seafood, vegetables, burgers, etc. is amazing when seared and grilled so quick that moisture gets locked-in.
When it comes to cleaning and getting rid of drippings, infrared grills are also known to create less work due to the high temperatures that practically vaporize any mess in seconds. Infrared grills - and many other grills that will heat to over 800 degrees - use a concave designed cooking grate. The cooking grate allows juices that drip off food to get caught in the channel design. This moisture is vaporized back into the food instead of falling through to create flare-ups, uneven heating and grease fires. Because of the flavor-saving design, the cooking grates do get looking pretty greasy after every use but with 1400 degrees of direct heat blasting the grid, grease is easily scraped or brushed away with a typical grill brush.
Infrared gas grills are the best tasting, quickest, most efficient and easiest grills to own. I spent more on my infrared gas grill than on any other ten barbecues I owned before. It was worth every penny. I swell with pride when guests come to my hose and bite in to a steak, swordfish and even hamburgers and hot dogs. Everyone asks about the grill and thinks I have a connection to some "super" supermarket because of the flavor of the food produced by my gas grill. My grill sits out in the backyard; an outdoor kitchen with an infrared built-in BBQ grill we built. It is totally uncovered and the most cleaning I've ever done is scrape the grates after cooking. Even with my poor maintenance my infrared grill starts every time and cooks perfectly every time.
http://www.Grill-Repair.com not only installs infrared gas grills, we provide technical assistance and service for most brands of infrared gas grills in South Florida. We are also avid grillers who absolutely love the infrared technology for the flavor produced, ease of use and simple cleaning.
We publish tutorials, cooking instructions, grill cleaning tips and barbeque grill parts replacement information on our grill parts repair blog so the backyard designer and home owner alike can communicate with out technicians, designers and installers.

Keiko's Cake - Happy Baking
Keikos-Cake.com - This video shows some of the cakes that my online students learned from me in 2010. Some cakes are easy to make, others are a bit more difficult. My students had a lot of fun with all of them, though. Good Pastry means a lot more than just mixing ingredients together and putting them in the oven. There are many more steps and details involved to get really professional results. If for you, a cake recipe must fit on a small sticky note, then Keikos-Cake is likely not for you. ;) If, however, you are open to learn and wish to impress your friends with professional self-made pastry, then you should make this wish come true. It's not difficult. Many of my students are surprised about the cakes they are suddenly able make. And their friends are surprised too...:-D Learn pastry online at keikos-cake.com

Advanced Technology in Small Countertop Ovens
Space seems to always be at a premium even for those that dwell in larger homes. Somehow, we always tend to need more space, be it for storage, clothing or kitchen countertops.
As the world leans toward a 'greener' way of life, we are also seeing the movement to smaller homes come into vogue. Moreover, it almost always goes without saying, those that live in college dorms, apartments and even condominiums always long for more space. Enter the small countertop ovens.
These innovative appliances have offered many a great alternative to the larger traditional type oven. Not only do they require less space, they also allow individuals a more efficient way to create appetizing and satisfying meals.
Regardless of the type of cooking one enjoys (or is forced to perform), there are small countertop ovens that will meet the required needs and wishes. Countertop broiler ovens offer the same benefits provided by the traditional large oven broiler. They allow the owner the ability to broil the food of choice in a smaller appliance and in a manner that is environmentally responsible.
For the cook searching for speed, the small countertop microwave oven may be the way to go offering the flexibility of quick cooking. This type of cooking allows one to eat and then get back to what they truly enjoy.
For those that greatly enjoy the art of cooking there are also advanced versions of small countertop ovens. These offer the more detailed type of cooking in addition to the advantage of an appliance that only requires a limited amount of space.
Rotisserie toaster ovens are just one of these examples of the cutting-edge technology in small space saving ovens. They have ample interior room to cook your prized meal with the mouth watering crispy outside and the perfectly basted and cooked inside. Moreover, the convection toaster oven replaces the large traditional oven while offering the same perfection for those that enjoy baking those sought after treats.
In addition, these small countertop ovens may be purchased in a variety of combinations meeting the specific needs of the individual cook. No longer are we tied to using our energy wasting appliances on those hot summer days.
We now have available to us the environmentally responsible smaller countertop ovens that can create the same wonderful meals while consuming less energy allowing all of us the opportunity to become 'greener' and help save the world in which we exist.

VA Home Improvement Loans
Did you know that aside from buying or building a new home, veterans can actually use VA loans for home improvements? Everybody knows that updating a home can cost a lot of money but if you're a veteran who is eligible for a VA loan can borrow as much as 90% of your home equity and use it for home improvements. This is something a veteran should take advantage of because of the VA loan's advantages. But just like a typical VA loan application, one has to submit the necessary requirements and prove eligibility.
So why should you consider a home improvement?
For one, it increases your home equity. Of course it also adds comfort and value to your home. Now what types of home improvement projects can you work on? Here's a quick checklist of what you can do.
o Roof Repairs - This is probably one of the best ways to use your VA loan since large improvements like roof repairs cost a lot of money. Installation of shingles or replacement of old ones cost somewhere from $2-$4 per square foot while flashing around the chimney costs about $300-$500.
o Flooring repairs - Another great way to spend your VA home improvement loan is by installing or repairing your home's flooring. With your loan you can have your floors sanded and finished or you can install a ceramic or vinyl floor or install a wall-to-wall carpet. The costs usually range from $1.50 to as much as $22 per square foot for the services mentioned above.
o Heating and Air Conditioning installations - Replacing the heating and air conditioning system costs somewhere from $1,500 to $4000 but if you are only going to install a humidifier or an air cleaner, it's priced at $300-$700.
o Bathroom remodeling - Statistics show that bathroom remodeling adds more value to a home. A typical bathroom remodeling ranges from $7,000 to as much as $16,000. Why is it so expensive? Though the bathroom is not the biggest room in the house, when it comes to renovation you have to call different people to remodel it - plumbers, electricians, tile contractors, sheet rock contractors, etc.
o Kitchen remodeling - Based on annual realtor group polls, it was found that kitchen remodeling adds the most value to your home. (Yes, it beats the bathroom remodeling numbers.) This type of remodeling starts from $8,000. You can update your countertops, the sink, cabinets, range, oven, the dishwasher, fridge, and microwave.
It is still more cost-efficient to repair and update your home than move into a new one. Better get started and apply for a VA home loan so you can enjoy the benefits of a newly improved home.

How to Safely Use an Oven
If you have recently purchased a new single oven for your kitchen, you are sure to be excited and eager to use it. However, before you set about to bake and cook delicious treats in your shiny new single oven, there are a few important safety tips you need to keep in mind to avoid any unfortunate accidents. Ovens burn at very high temperatures and so you need to be extra careful when putting in and taking out dishes, turning the heat on and off and so forth.
1. It is important that you do not crowd the unit. One specific model has a particular cooking capacity and filling it up beyond that will make your cooking less efficient and increase the risk of some accident due to spillage and things as such.
2. Bought the oven but do not have oven mitts? Do not even install the oven yet, get the mitts first. Many people do not realize how dangerous it can be to handle dishes and the door without the mitts. Even when you are placing a cool tray inside or simply opening the flap to check on a turkey of cake, make sure you have the mitts on. You never know when your hand might slip and the skin on your hand could be burned severely from the hot rods.
3. Avoid handling and changing the position of the racks in the oven after you have placed food inside to be cooked. You might be in a rush while adjusting the racks and this could also result in painful skin burns.
4. Clear the area and get yourself some space when you are about to take a cooked and hot dish out of the oven. You do not want distractions around you that might make you panic or rush because this could lead to spillage and accidents. If there are children in the house make sure they are not around when you are removing a hot dish from the oven, close the flap as quickly as you can and in case there is some spillage, mop it us as soon as you can.
5. Do not neglect the cleaning of your oven. Over time because of usage, grease tends to build up in the oven and this is the best time to use the self cleaning feature of units. This is important because built up grease may catch fire while cooking. Keeping these simple things in mind while working with the oven is sure to protect you and your family from any accidents.

How to Make the Perfect Gingerbread House For Christmas!
Christmas is nearly upon us and this little project is great fun for kids and grown-ups alike. It's relatively easy to make, it just takes a little bit of time and a little bit of sparkle.
Ingredients
Gingerbread
6 Cups of Plain Flour
½ Teaspoon of Baking Powder
4 Teaspoons of Ground Ginger
4 Teaspoons of Ground Cinnamon
½ Teaspoon of Salt
½ Teaspoon of Allspice
2 Eggs
1 Cup of Dark Molasses
1 Tablespoon of Water
12 Tablespoons of Butter
1 and a ½ Cups of Light Brown Sugar
Icing
2 Egg Whites
2 and 2/3 Cups of Powdered Sugar
Sweets of your Choice for the Decoration
Preheat oven to 170 degrees C
How to Make the Gingerbread
1. Whisk the dry ingredients together
2. Add in the butter and sugar and whisk until fluffy
3. Beat in the water, eggs and molasses
4. Beat in the flour bit by bit and knead once it's all in there
5. Add more flour if needed
6. Refrigerate the dough overnight
7. Measure out a front and back panel of the same size out of cardboard. These will need to have a point in the middle to create an apex with the 2 roof panels which are also the same size. Make 2 shorter sides of cardboard for the side panels.
8. Cut out these cardboard panels and lay them on top of the gingerbread dough. Cut out the various panels and lay on buttered greaseproof paper.
9. Place in the centre of the oven making sure there is plenty of room all around your gingerbread pieces in case they spread.
10. Cook for around 6 minutes and remove small side panels or until they brown around the edges
11. Cook for a further 7-9 minutes and take out larger pieces when they start to brown around the edges
12. Lay the templates over the corresponding pieces and cut off any overhanging bits that have spread in the oven.
13. Peel off the greaseproof paper and leave to cool
14. While you're waiting for the biscuits to cool make your icing. This will bind the walls and roof together.
15. Arrange one of the short walls next to an apexed wall and stick edges together with icing. Stick other short wall on other side of apexed wall and bind with more icing then find the last remaining wall to the back. Leave to completely harden.
16. Once the walls are arranged and fixed, you can begin to construct the roof. For an added surprise, you could fill the house with various sweets before you stick the roof onto the mini construction. Put icing all along the top edges of the walls and arrange the two roof panels together and bind with icing. Leave to dry completely. If any pieces crack or break completely- don't worry as you can simply use the icing to bind back together. It will give the house an antique look!
17. Now for the fun part! It's time to decorate! Get your fudge and stick together with icing in a brickwork pattern. This will make your chimney and this can be laid against the back of the house.
18. You could stick chocolate buttons onto the top of the construction in an overlapping style to create tiles. This looks particularly lovely with both milk and white chocolate buttons.
19. Decorate and place on a cake board. Cover the bottom of the board with more icing for a snowy affect and place fudge around the edge of the board to create a brick wall!

Corner Kitchen Cabinet Dimensions
How to design your kitchen: The decor of the kitchen is very important because with this you can distribute the furniture and accessories in an organized manner. When it comes to designing your kitchen you must follow several steps such as taking the necessary measures.
You must measure the length and width of the kitchen, like the height from floor to ceiling, to the latter it is important to note that the width and height of the walls are taken from different locations because the walls and floor are almost always present irregularities. You must also measure the door and window, each with its framework, like drains, radiators, making gas, water valves, sink, appliances, etc..
After these measures are scored, you must draw a floor plan to start a scale that reflects the area and perimeter of the kitchen with windows and doors. We recommend using a scale of 1:20 a A4 format. In the drawing, you must display the proper position of electrical outlets, gas and water, and of course, the ventilation ducts, if any. The next step is the distribution of the elements of the kitchen, it is important to know that their work will facilitate the distribution to make the chores, which is why there is to know the importance of the triangle of work, these are the three areas that are essential in a kitchen, which include the washing area, you will sink, the dishwasher, the cans, disinfectants, the wringer, and so on., the area of cooking, here is the oven, microwave The grease remover, utensils, condiments, oils, etc.. and the food storage area, this will serve to store food, both natural and prolonged expiration, if you distribute these three areas, your work faster and more efficient.
How to do it: There are several ways to distribute these areas quickly and easily, these are:
Online: you place the area of washing, storage and cooking as a line, this form of distribution shall be forfeited, if your kitchen is narrow and elongated.
At the same time: here are placed in two areas in front and a line, we recommend a minimum of 120cm between the two rows of furniture, this distribution is done in a long, wide kitchen, and kitchen with two doors opposite.
L: This is recommended in medium and large kitchens, here are placed the furniture in two adjoining walls, with this distribution will have auxiliary spaces, where we can have a table to eat.

What is a Single Wall Oven?
If you are looking for a cooking unit that is not too expensive, cooks efficiently and thoroughly and does not take up too much space in your kitchen, a single oven is just the thing for you. As the name employs, a single oven has a single slide open and close door and can cook only one meal at a time with efficiency. Perhaps the best thing about this type is that it can be installed in to a space in the wall so that minimal floor space is occupied by the unit; this feature is particularly appreciated by people who have smaller kitchens in their homes.
Units such as these are manufactured and available in both gas and electric types and in various different designs which mainly vary by the type of material which has been used to make them. Because they have grown so massively in popularity, you will find numerous variations of these ovens and the choice of which one is the best for you depends on your specific needs and preferences. Units made of stainless steel are particularly well know because they are durable and go well with any kitchen décor as well. You will see that some of the units will come with a time and temperature thermostat that you can control with high levels of accuracy. These features are especially useful for people who do not have too much time to cook and so need an oven that can do most of the work on its own. All you need to do is set the temperature and time it needs to be cooked and pay attention to other things around the house till the bell rings and the food is ready to be taken out.
The single transverse axis hinge door allows you to open and close the door with ease. Furthermore, most varieties of these units have glass doors, which mean that you can simply check on the cooking meal through the door without having to open and close it. Typically, a unit of this sort will cost you anywhere in between five hundred and a thousand dollars and if you get it from a well known company, then it is sure to be a great investment. Although there are many different companies offering these, to get the best deal for your money it is recommended that you shop from a popular place.

Old Appliance Parts
Nowadays, newer and better models of various types of appliances come out in the market every few months. As a result, consumers are "bombarded" with a wide selection of choices regarding appliance options. These include different models of dishwashers, ovens, refrigerators, and televisions. However, the high turnover rate of appliance models does not only mean that there is a wide selection of appliance options in the market. This is because it also means that people who own "older" appliance models will find it hard to look for appliance parts that they need to for their appliances, especially in stores.
As appliances age, the more they are considered "obsolete." This results to stores opting to fill their stockrooms with newer appliance parts. But this does not mean that people should rush to stores to buy new appliances because they are having a hard time finding replacement parts for their appliances. There are still good sources of older appliance parts on the market.
Online Surplus Stores
As with "obsolete" appliance parts, the Internet also serves as a rich source of older appliance parts. However, apart from the usual web sites that sell old appliance parts, there are other web sites that you can visit to buy older appliance parts in "mint" condition. These web sites are the web sites of surplus stores that have large inventories of old appliance parts that they got direct from the manufacturers. Apart from being a good source of old appliance parts, buying from these web sites can also ensure that you get access to high quality appliance parts.
One good example of such a web site is http://www.liquidityservicesinc.com, which has a wide network of sellers and buyers of surplus items, including appliance parts. In addition to this, other web sites that sell surplus appliance parts also provide other services, which include shipping and delivery services, very helpful for individuals and businesses.
The Internet serves as a very good source of old appliance parts, which consumers can access. However, old appliance parts are not only available from online retail stores because there are other good sources of old appliance parts online. One of these is online surplus stores that sell appliance parts that they got directly from the manufacturers. Therefore, buying from them to get high quality appliance parts is one of the better options for your appliance parts needs.

Selecting a Wall Oven
A single oven that can be installed in a wall space is an ideal choice for a family kitchen that is small in size. Because they are so easy to use and occupy less space they have become increasingly popular and are available in numerous different sizes and types which basically vary in their functions, cleaning amenities, warranties and the materials from which they are made. Since it is not a very small investment, you will probably want to purchase the unit that is ideally suited to your particular needs and personal preferences and to know for sure which one is right for you, keep the following things in mind.
1. Before setting out to search for the oven of your choice, make sure you measure the space where you will want to install the unit in the wall. The space will obviously be larger than the unit itself and especially when you are thinking of getting a double unit, make sure you measure the height of the space as well. Typically, wall ovens range in size from twenty four to thirty inches in width.
2. According to your budget and preferences, decide whether you want to get a gas or electric unit. While gas units are more efficient, they may prove to be pricey in the long run depending on the rates of gas.
3. You should look for an oven that is an incorporation of numerous different beneficial features other than just efficient cooking. For instance, since keeping the unit clean is of high importance look for a model that allows convenience in that area such as a removable bottom tray, removable door, digital controls and an electrical element that tilts.
4. Do not hesitate to open the oven and look at the trays and racks inside. Test their mobility and strength to make sure that they will not bend when you place a dish in it that is on the heavy side. Also, if you are getting a convection unit, check to make sure the fan is not too noisy.
5. More technological features are always a plus point as this will upgrade the efficiency of your cooking process. There are numerous features that should be looked for in this respect such as a light inside the unit, LED displays, even heating and baking features, digital timers, meat probes, broiler settings both high and low, digital controls and so forth.
A unit with all the above features coupled with a good warranty is sure to be a great investment.
